History's Monologue by A.R.C.

I've borne

This burden for too long

Carrying the weight

Of the actions of others

With no way

To tell the correct

Account of what actually

Happened

It's that inability

To write

For myself

That's rendered

Me speechless

Unable to voice

My concern

Fears

And ambitions

Over and over

I tell the same message

Of the rise and

Fall of nations

The oppression of the weak

The tyranny of the corrupt

Some steer my words

For their own design

To guide me towards repetition

As if there were no

Other Alternative

Yet I long for a

World

Where I

Don't have to repeat

Myself

And look forward

To the day ahead
